What we actually do

We make fine jewellery to order and we keep a small case of finished pieces. The work that pays the rent is not the showpiece — it is the eternity band sized correctly the first time, the inherited brooch turned into something wearable, the setting re-tipped before the stone is lost.

Because we are one bench rather than a chain, we can say no. If a design will not wear well, we will tell you before you commission it rather than after. If a stone is better spent on a different setting, we will say that too.

Nothing here is sold through a shopping cart. A piece of jewellery at this price deserves a conversation, a fitting and a person who answers the phone afterwards — so the site collects enquiries and the rest happens between people.

Materials, not plating

18k gold and 950 platinum throughout, including the parts nobody sees. Plated findings wear through exactly where they touch skin, so we do not use them.

Set by hand

Every stone is set at this bench. Setting is the difference between a piece that holds its stones for forty years and one that does not, and it is not work we send out.

Traceable stones

Certification available on request for any stone over 0.50 ct, and an honest answer about origin for everything below it.

Repairs welcome

We would rather restore a piece you already love than sell you a replacement. Bring it in — the assessment is free and often the answer is that it needs very little.
